Have you ever felt like the world is constantly telling you to use social media to grow your business? It almost feels like it’s become a must. We “have to” use social media to reach our target audiences because it’s the best way to do it.

Adrienne Hill emphatically disagrees.

As a seasoned entrepreneur herself, Adrienne is all too familiar with the overwhelming pressure to use social media. When she started her current business, she was determined to find a way to build a successful business without completely or solely relying on social media to do it.

In our most recent episode of The Entrepreneur Coach Podcast, I got to sit down and chat with her about her journey and what it took to get where she is now—the changes she made, the pivots she took, and the adapting she had to do.

Read on to find out more and see what else you can use to grow your business.

  1. Achieving success without relying solely on social media
In this day and age, we’re all constantly on social media, so it makes sense that a lot of people insist that a business has to make use of social media to grow. But, honestly, the idea of continually creating and posting content can just be… a little soul-crushing. It’s draining and often not very empowering, especially because self doubt can creep in. Are we doing enough? Is it good? Will anyone react to it?

Adrienne spent her early days as an entrepreneur facing this same pressure, engaging in several posting strategies and tactics, and she absolutely hated it. It was tiring and just not true to her personal values. So, when she started her current business, she was utterly determined to pivot her approach and try something new, and while it took a few tries, Adrienne has been successful! She is now adamant that businesses can achieve significant success without caving into the constant pressure of content creation.

  1. The Power of Virtual Summits
If you want to reach more people and connect with like-minded business owners, then hosting a virtual summit could be just what you need. Why? It’s essentially a different form of networking, where you’re bringing together a bunch of people into one virtual room. This gives people the opportunity to meet each other, to build trust with one another, and to grow personally and professionally. Plus, having just hosted my own virtual summit, it’s fun!

This is the method Adrienne uses to build her own business, though she wasn’t initially sold on the idea. However, after observing the genuine connections, collaborations, and integrity that can be built through these events, she was deeply inspired and kept going. Adrienne says it’s not just about selling, but also about creating a sense of camaraderie among participants, which is incredibly unique and important.

  1. Connecting with Trusted Experts
As we navigate through this increasingly digital world, it’s often hard to know who to trust (people really can say anything on the internet). Your credibility online depends on the trust you build with your community, and being discerning about who you invite to speak at your summit forms an integral part of your own online identity.

Adrienne explains how virtual summits can create a network of trusted experts. If you know and carefully vet your speakers, then you’ll be able to ensure higher authenticity and expertise. Only bring in those you know would bring the most value to your audience. By doing this, you’ll build trust and credibility which will in turn extend your reach. More people will come to your business or to purchase your products because they know you are trustworthy.
